WWE WrestleMania: Four Horsewomen match was seriously considered for big main event (Exclusive)

Bianca Belair vs. Becky Lynch for the Raw Women’s Championship, and Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey for the SmackDown Women’s Championship are both now set for WrestleMania 38.

However, sources have told fandom that WWE was actually considering another top women’s match the show, that now won’t be happening.

fandom writer has learned that in November and early December, WWE was ‘seriously considering’ a Four Horsewomen fatal-four way match for the main event of night one of WrestleMania.

The match would have been Sasha Banks, Bayley and the aforementioned Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair close out the first night of WWE’s biggest event of the year.

Unless something drastic changes, which isn’t on the cards right now, the match won’t end up happening at April’s big show.

fandom has been told that WWE pivoted away from the four-way match for a number of reasons, the main one centred around Ronda Rousey.

WWE became aware that Ronda Rousey would be able to be at WrestleMania 38 around December time, which is when pitches for her return started being made.

We have been told that the feeling within WWE was that Rousey should be involved in a top women’s title match, which would mean that the four-way match couldn’t happen.

We have also been told that there was a desire from several people within WWE to finish the Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair storyline, with said people feeling that the story had to end at WrestleMania.

However, while the match won’t be happening at WrestleMania 38, we have been told that it’s something that WWE is actively looking to do before too long.

As of right now, while Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch have matches confirmed for WrestleMania, it’s unknown whether or not Bayley or Sasha Banks will be involved in the show.
