Former Chelsea Cult Hero Warns Blues To Prepare Properly For Brazilian Test

There are a few paths to becoming a cult hero at a club, but none is more certain than Juliano Belletti’s route at Chelsea.

Arrive at the conclusion of your illustrious career, having scored in the Champions League final against Arsenal, join a fantastic attacking squad, score some screamers, win a trophy or two, and then retire.

He’s been talking about the Club World Cup final between Palmeiras and Chelsea this weekend as a prominent Brazilian pundit.

“They’re a well-drilled, tactically intense team,” the former defender warned. “Chelsea must be cautious because sometimes Euro teams don’t prepare as well as South American teams, which can give those teams an advantage.”

Chelsea shouldn’t need much convincing about the dangers of complacency. They played poorly against Al Hilal yesterday and were fortunate to win. Not only that, but the only previous time they reached the final, in 2012, they were defeated by Brazilian opponents.

Let’s hope they don’t need this reminder to stay focused on the task at hand.
