EPL: Rangnick criticizes Ronaldo, other Man United stars after Southampton draw

Ralf Rangnick, Manchester United’s interim manager, has chastised his players, including Cristiano Ronaldo, for losing their cool and making poor decisions during Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Southampton in the Premier League.

At Old Trafford, Ronaldo was unable to save Man United, as two goals from Jadon Sancho and Che Adam guaranteed a point for both the Red Devils and Southampton.

After defeating Southampton, Manchester United has now lost two games in a row.

Prior to the Southampton encounter, Rangnick’s team had drew with Burnley.

Rangnick said in his post-game press conference, “Unfortunately, it’s extremely similar to the last couple of games.”

“We had a wonderful first half hour; we accomplished everything we planned with the counter attacks and deep runs, and it’s how we produced and prepared a great goal.” But we stopped doing so, and we lost a little shape in the second half.

“We had a hard time defending them throughout the transition.” We had plenty of chances to score again in the final 20 minutes, and the expected-goal ratio was obviously in our favor, but we didn’t achieve the result we needed.

“However, we lost our cool and made poor decisions, sometimes under duress, sometimes not.” This is where we need to improve.”
