Cameron Norrie, the top seed from the United Kingdom, reached the semi-finals of the ATP Delray Beach Open on Friday, defeating US fifth seed Sebastian Korda.
After two hours and 19 minutes, Norrie, a 26-year-old left-hander, defeated Korda 6-2, 1-6, 7-6 (7/4).
He’ll face US fourth seed Tommy Paul in the semi-finals on Saturday, after he beat compatriot Stefan Kozlov 6-3, 6-1.
After winning titles at Indian Wells and Los Cabos last year, Norrie is aiming for his third career ATP crown.
In the third, Korda broke Norrie for a 5-4 lead, but Norrie came back to square the game at 5-5 on the way to the tie-breaker.
Fridays in Delray Beach are always fun.
Korda took a 2-0 lead, but Norrie scored the next three points and four of the next five to win.
Norrie had previously lost to Korda in the semi-finals of the 2021 Delray Beach Open and the first round of the Australian Open this year.
In the other quarter-finals, French seventh seed Adrian Mannarino will face American second seed Reilly Opelka, and Bulgarian third-seeded wildcard Grigor Dimitrov will face Australian John Millman.
